Hi, my nickname is Faife, also known by Lucas, my real name.

I am a 19 year old Iberian teen who started tinkering with computers from a very young age and is passionate about free (as in freedom) software and hardware, computing in general, GNU/Linux, digital privacy, cybersecurity, fixing/modding interesting apparatuses, collecting music, old videogames and old phones! If it's not obvious enough, I support Right to Repair!

I have a preference for collecting CDs over vinyl, as I have no way to play vinyls as of August 2026 and they're a loooooot more expensive than CDs, and besides, I really enjoy how clear digital audio is, and owning/ripping CDs is cheap and easy. Most of my computers have a disc drive! I then copy the album to my iPod once I'm done ripping it so that I can listen to it everywhere I go. I always rip in FLAC (I use Rockbox in my iPod, which does have a fantastic sounding DAC).

I get my music mostly on CDs, bought brand new from a local store that sells them, used or sealed from Discogs, or from a flea market. If there's no physical disc available, I buy music digitally from Bandcamp if it's available there.

Faife is an abbreviation for "Free as in Freedom Enjoyer". I was trying to think of a nickname and this is the best idea I've had in a long time. Faife just sounds nice, is short, and has a meaning! The abbreviation may be silly, but "Faife" is nice for the reasons I just stated.

I am a femboy. I enjoy femininity. I like femboy fashion, long hair and I like wearing nail polish and makeup! Heck, maybe one day I'll even make a "Femboy Fashion" section on this website! If you don't like it, get the fuck out.

As you could already tell, I am a BIG fan of self-expression. Please take advantage of your free will, life is too short!

Tired of how shitty Microsoft Windows has become in the last 10 years or so, I started using Macintoshes since late 2020 as someone who didn't know any better despite tinkering a lot with computers since childhood, but since November 2022, I've been using Linux distributions as my main operating system, and since then, I've become a lot more privacy and security conscious. As of June 2026, my preferred distribution is Arch Linux (btw). I have tried many, but I always end falling back on Arch, I just seem to have a soft spot for it.

Most of the software I use is free as in freedom, and I'm not willing to use proprietary software if the free software equivalent I use fulfills my needs just fine.

I am very libertarian. I have left-wing views, I am an atheist and an ally of the LGBTQ. Homophobes and transphobes, get the fuck out of here! You miserable pieces of shit! This website is also run by a queer person if you couldn't already tell. I don't tolerate any form of fascism, nazism, racism or the like.

I have a huge disdain for a lot of big corporations. Apple, Google, Meta, Microsoft, Samsung and the like, due to their continuous anti-customer practices. If you're a bootlicker, we probably won't be good friends.

I am a man of principles. As a cybersecurity student, I find that most (if not all) of my classmates with ages ranging from 19-22 to 30-40 always put money over ethics. As someone who hates Big Tech companies for their actions, I have been asked if I'd accept a job offer from a company like Google if they paid me tons, to which I said no. The answer I got was that this could be the difference between actually getting well paid and working for a grocery store... This is stupid, just because I don't want to work for a Big Tech, it doesn't mean that I cannot find a job in the field of cybersecurity that would pay me well. For instance, if I was offered thousands of bucks for promoting a casino, legal or illegal, I wouldn't promote it, because I'd be supporting something that I have a huge disdain for to get tons of money, which, needless to say, is hypocritical. I don't want to sell myself, because if I say something under my name, it's because I believe in it. I am not a fucking NPC and I will never echo things I completely disagree with to get tons of money in exchange. I will ALWAYS take part in fair work and I will never knowingly take money for something that is harmful to society. I gave this example because I answered to my classmate with this, and another classmate said I'm crazy for not accepting a huge money offer for just "showing" a casino. I will be extremely honest, I think my class is full of bootlickers! They use genAI for even the most basic shit!

I am not a fan of generative "AI". If I want to search and/or learn about something, I use a search engine or Wikipedia like I always did since the age of 4 and use my brain to analyse the info I see, since that's what it's for. An "AI" assistant is not a search engine, it entirely generates its output and has no idea of what it's talking about, it generates output that it cannot understand at all since it has no brain. And heck, if that clanker claims to search the web and gives you the sources that it supposedly checked, more often than not it generates misinformation that is completely unrelated to the sources that it claimed to check. Why should I use an "AI" assistant when I already do mistakes myself? It's fucking inefficient. As a human with a brain, I learn from my mistakes and I am doing just fine. An "AI" assistant will never learn from its mistakes, because again, it has no brain. Your "AI" did not "hallucinate" - it has no brain.

I put "AI" in quotes because it's not intelligence, it's just a slop generator. A 4 year old is much smarter than this crap. It's such a waste of resources, computational or natural.
